They say that you need to eat to live and not live to eat. However food is very important to the general health of the person. It is imperative that the person takes a balanced diet so that they can get all the different nutrients that will keep them healthy. The financial situation that some people find their families in can have an impact. It means that they cannot afford good quality food. They have to rely on cheap processed food that has very limited nutritional value. What is even more disappointing is the fact that the younger generation is getting in on the act and they are getting addicted to junk food.
One wonders about the future health of the community when the younger generation is less healthy than the pensioners. It is not just a question of finance because some people are just too lazy to make a proper meal for their family. They would rather serve the convenience food that does not involve any preparation tasks.
The lack of knowledge has made it very difficult for many people to make the connection between their diet and their health. They have come to the erroneous conclusion that they can separate these two issues on the basis that food is an essential item. They just know that one has to eat whatever they like. As a consequence they stop eating in response to hunger but just to keep happy and safe.
This emotional attachment to food can make it difficult for them to give up their addition in the short run. It will take years of practice and care before they can return to the normal feeding habits. The level of activity that they have can also have an impact on their health.
Even where they have over indulged on occasions, the people can still maintain a healthy lifestyle if they burn the accumulated calories through regular exercise. It is a difficult factor to overcome but the results can be excellent. The kinds of foods that body builders eat would make anyone else have a heart attack but the fact that they exercise a lot means that their net weight gain is managed within the limits of their profession.
If you cannot control your diet then you should try to control the level of physical activity that you do so that you can burn all the accumulated calories. That way you will lead a long and healthy life regardless of your genes.
